Stella Hospitality aquires Sunleisure Group

Stella Hospitality Group has added five Gold Coast properties to its stable through the recent takeover of hotel manager Sunleisure Group Limited.

The former Sunleisure properties joining the group are Q1 Resort & Spa, Legends Hotel, Circle on Cavill, Avalon Riverfront Apartments and Lumiere Apartments.

Stella Hospitality Group chief executive officer Bob East said all five properties would now be managed by the Stella Hospitality Group.

“These landmark Gold Coast properties are renowned for their quality, position and service and are excellent additions to several of our premium brands,” Mr East said.

“The Gold Coast accommodation and residential markets are enjoying a major revival and properties such as these are leading the way.”

Legends Hotel will join the Mantra brand of premium 4 to 4.5 star properties and become Mantra Legends Hotel.

Circle on Cavill will join the Saville Hotel Group and be re-branded to Saville Circle on Cavill.

The other properties will retain existing branding but will be managed under other properties.

Q1 Resort & Spa will be managed by Peppers, Avalon Riverfront Apartments will be managed by Saville and Lumiere Apartments will be managed by Mantra Legends Hotel.

Stella Hospitality Group has swallowed a number of property and hospitality groups in 2006/07, including the Saville Hotel Group, the Outrigger Resorts Group, the S8 Property Trust and the most recent Sunleisure Group.

Stella’s parent Company, investment and financial services group MFS Ltd, locked in a partner this month to pump capital into this travel and hospitality division following the series of rapid takeovers.

Stella Hospitality Group has more than 130 properties across the corporate and leisure market in Australia and New Zealand.
