Millennium Hotels new developments Asia and Middle East

Millennium Hotels and Resorts, one of the world’s largest hotel chains with over 108 hotels in 16 countries, has announced exciting plans for its overseas properties including multi-million dollar renovations for its hotel in Malaysia and a new deluxe property opening in Dubai, UAE.
 
Malaysia Receives its First Millennium Hotel
The Regent Kuala Lumpur, the five-star icon of Malaysia’s hospitality industry, is to officially become the Millennium Kuala Lumpur on 1 June, 2007, making it the first Millennium hotel in the country. The Millennium Kuala Lumpur is currently undergoing a Ringgit Malaysia $103 million (USD$30 million) makeover to reflect the new brand’s style. The Millennium Kuala Lumpur’s overall design is being created by Environment Design Consultants Sdn. Bhd., while restaurant and bar areas are designed by TriBeCa Asia Hospitality Group.

Upon completion of renovations in October 2007, the Millennium Kuala Lumpur will feature 468 stylish, contemporary guestrooms and suites, grand lobby and reception areas. The hotel will also introduce unique and exciting dining and entertainment establishments poised to set new trends in the capital city

The Millennium Kuala Lumpur is strategically located in the heart of the Golden Triangle, the capital city’s prestigious shopping and entertainment districts. The hotel is also the recipient of numerous international awards, including the Hospitality Asia Platinum Award for Service Excellence and the Hospitality Asia Platinum Award for Best Executive Club Lounge.

Millennium Hotels and Resorts is planning further expansion in Asia including two new five-star properties: the Millennium Beijing and Millennium Chengdu are scheduled to open in 2008. Its sister property, the Millennium Hongqiao in Shanghai opened in 2006 making it the first Millennium property in China. Other properties opening last quarter of 2007 include the Millennium Sukhumvit Bangkok and Millennium Resort Phuket both located in Thailand.

Developments in the Middle East
Millennium Hotels and Resorts is also expanding its five-star hotel portfolio in the Middle East with the addition of its “five-star jewel,” the Millennium Towers Hotel Dubai. The Millennium Towers Hotel Dubai is scheduled to open in the summer of 2007. The hotel will be managed by Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East and North Africa on behalf of Mr. Riad T. Al Sadik, owner of the property and managing partner of the Al Habtoor Engineering Company.

With its unique location next to the Mall of Emirates on the dynamic Sheikh Zayed road, the Millennium Towers Hotel Dubai will feature 149 furnished suites and 203 guest rooms along with signature restaurants and meeting facilities to cater to the needs of business and leisure travelers.

Other new properties in the Middle East that will be opening in the last quarter of 2007 are the Kingsgate Abu Dhabi, Burooj Suites Dubai, and the Copthorne al Jahrah Kuwait.
