Changing of the Guard at The Hotel Windsor !!
The Hotel Windsor Australia’s Grand Hotel is independant once more with recent sale by Oberoi Hotels to a local Melbourne consortium.Oberoi Hotels has recently sold the Hotel Windsor and the management rights to a local Melbourne consortium which owns and manages the Adelphi Hotel and now the Windsor as part of a new developing Hotel Group.The Hotel Windsor with it’s 123 year history as one of Australia’s Grand Hotels was originally an independant Hotel owned by the Victorian State Goverment prior to Oberoi Hotel purchasing it in the early 90’s.Oberoi Hotels owned and managed the Hotel and spent considerable money investing in the property and refurbishing it to its current splendor.The Windsor was part of Leading Hotels of the World and won many Best Hotel of the year awards as well as being Internationally recognised for the quality and standard of service as being one of Australia’s leading 5 Star Deluxe Hotels.
The recent aquistion and management change has meant that the previous General Manager under Oberoi Hotels Gary Gibson has moved on after 24 years at the Windsor.Gary started his career at the Windsor as a porter and worked his way through the ranks to General Manager.Gary had a great career with the Windsor and Oberoi Hotel and recently won the General Manager of the year award as well as many Hotel and Industry awards under his leadership at the Hotel.
The New CEO who is part of the new owning company and overseeing the change over at The Hotel Windsor is David Perry.David is well know in the Hotel Industry and has worked as General Manager in leading Boutique 5 Star Deluxe Hotels both in Australia and overseas.David was very successfull developing The Como Melbourne to be one of Australias leading 5 Star Boutique Hotels.David has held many senior corporate roles in large International Hotel companies and has a very extensive Hotel and sales and marketing background.David has the exciting and challenging role at such a turning point in the Hotels history sought to lead this iconic hotel to be Australia’s finest.
